主讲人简介：
Ching-Wen Hsue (徐敬文) received the B.S. and M.S. in Electrophysics and Electronics from the National Chiao-Tung University，Taiwan，in 1973 and 1975, respectively，and the Ph.D. degree from the Polytechnic University，Brooklyn, NY, in 1985. From 1975 to 1980, he was a Research Engineer in the Telecommunication Laboratories, Taiwan. From 1985 to 1993, he was a Member of Technical Staff with Bell Laboratories, Princeton, NJ, U.S.A. In 1993，he joined the Department of Electronic Engineering, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan, as a Professor, where, from August 1997 to July 1999 and August 2002 to July 2005, he served as the Department Chairman. His current interest is in the application of discrete-time signal process techniques to microwave engineering. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.
报告摘要：
The global economics are now facing the rapid information development. In the information era, some important basic equipment and technology such as telephone, UNIX operating system and C language are invented in Bell Laboratories. As the important foundation of information construction in the physical, mathematical and technical aspects, the transistor, information theory and digital transmission are the milestones built by the Bell Laboratories in the scientific history. Professor Hsue will introduce the organization, significant achievements and the organizational reform of Bell Laboratories based on his research findings in microwave theory and technology, high-frequency and high-power circuit, and electromagnetic compatibility, with his research experience in Bell Laboratories. Furthermore, he will introduce his expectation of building a similar organization in China.
